Field Marshal Vests – Distribution and Collection

  • Prior to the first game in each game block, Idaho Futsal Court Prep Crew will distribute the Field Marshal vests to the assigned referee.
  • Before the start of each match, the referee will hand one vest to each team’s designated Field Marshal.
    • If a Field Marshal has not yet been identified by a team, the referee will provide the vest to the team’s coach, who will immediately designate and equip a volunteer.
  • Matches will not begin until both Field Marshals are in position and wearing the vests, ensuring the protocol is active from the start of play.
  • At the conclusion of each game, and once both teams and spectators have exited the court area, the referee will collect the vests and retain them for the next match.
  • At the end of the scheduled game block, the Idaho Futsal Court Prep Crew will collect all vests from the referees.
  • To offset any potential impact on game timeliness associated with the Field Marshal process, the pre-game coin toss will be eliminated, and we will follow the recommendation from the Idaho State Referee Committee Chair: the home team choses what side they will be defending and the visitor team will choose if they kickoff on the first or second half.
