Referees, Coaches & Field Marshals Interactions

Referees, Coaches & Field Marshals Interactions

  1. Team benches will remain on the opposite side of the bleachers, as usual.
  2. The Idaho Futsal Field Prep Crew will provide the referee with two FIELD MARSHAL jackets.
  3. The referee will distribute one jacket to each head coach.
  4. Coaches will assign the jackets to their designated volunteers.
  5. The referee will ensure that each team has one Field Marshal positioned on the spectator (bleachers) side of the court, preferably aligned with their own team’s parents and directly across from their team bench during the first half.
  6. Games must not begin until Field Marshals are in position.
(The game clock may still start at the scheduled time.)
  7. For U13 and older divisions, teams will continue to switch benches at halftime. Spectators and Field Marshals do not need to switch sides.
  8. IMPORTANT: If a Field Marshal observes spectators becoming loud, aggressive, or disrespectful, they may signal the referee for a TIMEOUT. The referee may stop play (but not the clock) and instruct the appropriate coach(es) to address their spectators.
  9. The Referee will get the jackets from Field Marshals or coaches once all spectators are gone for that game. Start at step 1 or give jackets back to Court Prep Crew if it is the last game.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  1. All parents, managers, and coaches have received the Field Marshal role description, including their four core responsibilities: Field Marshals Responsibilities | Idaho Football Federation (IFF)
  2. All parents have received also the Spectator Code of Conduct
  3. We are also working to assign an Event POC (Point of Contact) at West Ada school sites to handle non-game issues and serve as the primary on-site liaison.
